Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s campaign is using mainstream media “gotcha” questions regarding Barack Obama to start an email fundraising campaign.

As The Hill reports, Walker “has drawn scrutiny for refusing to say whether he agrees with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s comments questioning whether President Obama loves America.” Giuliani’s remarks came at an event attended by Walker.

He’s also faced questions over his response when asked if Obama is a Christian, as The Hill reported here.

“I don’t know,” Walker, a likely 2016 presidential candidate, told The Washington Post when asked if Obama is a Christian.

“I’ve actually never talked about it or I haven’t read about that,” Walker said.

Republican-aligned social media and others have been busy pointing out how one-sided the questioning seems, with Hillary Clinton being given a pass on just about everything by the same media outlets. If anything, Walker’s poking the media with a stick, even while trying to fundraise, will only serve to win him more friends across the conservative base.

Walker’s campaign sent an email requesting donations Sunday night. The email from Friends of Scott Walker, which runs his reelection campaign, said the governor “refuses to be distracted by the small, petty, and pale ideas that the ‘gotcha’ headline writers for the Liberal Media want to talk about.”
