On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton gave an unannounced paid speech to eBay executives in California a day after she addressed her private email scandal at the United Nations.
The Washington Post confirmed that Clinton was “paid for her appearance,” and the outlet noted that “Clinton’s representatives as a practice do not disclose her fee, but she typically makes $200,000 to $300,000 per appearance, with visits to the West Coast usually commanding higher payment than those closer to her homes in New York and Washington.”
Though Clinton has come under fire for her family foundation’s acceptance of millions of dollars in donations from repressive Middle Eastern regimes, she appeared at the company’s Women’s Initiative Network Summit.
USA Today, which was at the event, noted that Clinton has personal ties to the wife of eBay CEO John Donahoe. Eileen Donahoe “worked for Clinton as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva between 2010 and 2013.”
Clinton, who will reportedly announce her candidacy next month, reportedly spoke for 20 minutes and then had a question and answer session with eBay human resources senior vice president Beth Axelrod.
USA Today reported that Clinton never addressed her private email controversy.
