White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that the White House was “not in a position to enforce” Hillary Clinton’s disclosure agreement, and referred questions on that matter to the State Department during Wednesday’s White House Press Briefing.

Earnest was asked if he believed that Clinton’s memorandum of understanding was followed in light of revelations that the Clintons failed to disclose 1,100 donors, he stated, there is “no evidence…that the decisions that she made as Secretary of State were in an any way influenced by anything that was done at the family’s foundation.”

When pressed about the specifics of whether Clinton complied with the agreement, Earnest answered that he is “reluctant to talk about the specific compliance because the White House is not in a position to enforce that compliance,” and that enforcement is up to the State Department and referred questions about the compliance to them. He further praised her service as Secretary of State as “exemplary.”
