NBC’s “Meet the Press” and MSBNC’s “MTP Daily” host Chuck Todd stated “President Obama’s Syria policy has not worked” on Monday’s “MSNBC Live.”

Todd said, “Putin obviously has the stronger hand right now when it comes to Syria, and he’s — he has laid those cards out on the table, and the fact is, that President Obama’s Syria policy has not worked. I mean, look what we just — when — we just found out that the plan that he put into place, which is to train some moderate rebels in Syria, that were both anti-ISIS and anti-Assad, we got four of them — four or five of them left, not 400 or 500, 4 or 5, after a $500 million program. This is a policy that’s not working, obviously. So, Putin comes in here with a bit of a stronger hand right now. But, I thought it was interesting, the president didn’t want to acknowledge that yet publicly. I mean, I thought he threw — he wanted to make it clear to Putin, I think, before their meeting, he certainly threw some rhetorical broadsides back — right back at him, when he went directly at Crimea and some — a few other things. So, I think this is going to be a pretty tense meeting. But, at the end of the day, it does seem as if the — Putin’s out there saying, World War II-style alliance. The US is basically already changing its rhetoric to say, okay, maybe as long as Assad’s not there, but the Assad regime may — I mean, we’re — it looks like we’re acquiescing here.”
