LAS VEGAS — Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is slamming Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, after Gabbard claimed publicly she was dis-invited from her party’s first presidential debate.

“I didn’t know the congresswoman from Hawaii was running for president,” Reid said at a press conference ahead of the first Democratic debate at Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. Hawaii’s Gabbard, a vice chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, has been advocating to expand the debate schedule.

“I am satisfied with six debates,” Reid said on the issue.

Some Democrats think the short debate schedule favors front-runner Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders, Martin O’Malley, and others.

“I think this is a simple issue of democracy, a simple issue of freedom of speech and really of invigorating our process here,” Gabbard said this week.
