There may be a new reason for the mainstream media to sympathize with Hillary Clinton: her campaign is getting terrible web traffic.

In the month of September, Clinton managed to get only 1.35 million unique visitors to her campaign website – a fraction of one percent of the entire country and far behind her Democratic opponent Bernie Sanders, who logged 5.2 million.

Even more embarrassingly, the top organic search term leading to Clinton’s campaign website was “Hillary Clinton email,” a reference to her private-server scandal.

Data from the analytics firm SimilarWeb found that Clinton got only 5.3 percent of her campaign web traffic from email, compared to 11.6 percent for Sanders.

Sanders got 2.4 million mobile visits against 675,000 for Clinton. About 73 percent of Clinton’s traffic came from Facebook.
