Columnist Pat Buchanan argued that GOP presidential candidates Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Florida Senator Marco Rubio have made mistakes during their time in the Senate, but neither would repeat them on Friday’s “McLaughlin Group.”

Buchanan said during a discussion on the debate between Cruz and Rubio on the NSA “Cruz made a mistake and…Rubio made a mistake on immigration. But neither of them would make that mistake again. But in the face off between the two of them, I thought Rubio was doing exceedingly well early in the debate, but clearly he was under duress. Later, it went on, and I think Cruz won the exchange especially on the immigration and amnesty issue. He kept pounding it again and again and again.”

He later added of the exchange on immigration between the two, “I think Cruz probably drew some blood on that.”
