In a rare presentation of political discipline and restraint, Donald Trump used written remarks Thursday night to needle Texas Sen. Ted Cruz for his disparaging quip about “New York Values” — without ever mentioning his opponent’s name.

Trump, Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich all spoke beforehundreds of Republicans at a black tie state party gala here in their only planned joint appearance before Tuesday’s presidential primary.
