Queens, New York — There have been reports of shots fired inside John F. Kennedy International Airport Sunday night in New York.

Evacuations of the JFK terminal are underway as the NYPD are investigating the shots fired and are searching for a suspect. There are no reports of any injuries reported.

The shooting, according to ABC7 NYC local station, occurred sometime around 9:30 pm in Terminal 8. Witnesses state they heard two shots fired, but no police officers heard any shots. Around 10:15 pm, another report of shots fired occurred in Terminal 1.

Several flights leaving from Terminals 1 and 8 are reported to be canceled, according to the website.

People inside the airport have taken to social media to post photos, videos, and their accounts of the alleged shooting incident.

Bryan Liston, who is at Terminal 8, is reporting on Twitter the chaos and the evacuation of people running out of the terminal.

A passenger at JFK tweeted, “Panic at jfk theyre closing the gates at security-possible shooter.”

“More evacuations and running out of terminal that Lufthansa is in, cop cars speeding over there, people running every direction,” Liston posted on Twitter.

The NYPD has closed the street surrounding the JFK area.

FAA reports Operations at JFK Airport will remain suspended for security reasons until at least 12:30 a.m. ET.
