New polls by Quinnipiac show a tightening race in several critical states, with Donald Trump now up one point in Ohio and tied in Florida. Trump has also cut into Hillary Clinton’s once double-digit leads in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

The Quinnipiac poll of 775 likely voters  in the Buckeye State showed Trump topping Clinton by one point in a head-to-head matchup. In a four-way race with Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein, Trump is up four, as noted in the Real Clear Politics average of daily tracking polls.

This is huge difference from Quinnipiac’s results from only two weeks ago when it found Clinton up a full ten points in a Trump vs. Clinton race in Ohio.

The latest Ohio poll was taken from August 29 to September 7 with a 3.5 point margin of error (MOE)

Quinnipiac also reports that the two major candidates are tied in the battleground state of Florida with its 29 Electoral College votes. The two top candidates are also tied even when Quinnipiac polled for results in a four-way race.

Quinnipiac polled 761 likely Florida voters between August 29 and September 7 with a 3.6 error margin.

Clinton still leads in Pennsylvania, according to Quinnipiac, and is up 5 points in a one-on-one contest with Trump. The pollster asked the question of 778 likely voters from Aug. 29 to to Sept. 7 with an error margin of 3.5 points. But the latest result is a far cry from Quinnipiac’s August 9 poll that found Clinton up ten points against Trump.

In North Carolina, Quinnipiac puts Hillary Clinton ahead of Trump by four points among the 751 Tar Heel voters polled between Aug. 29 to Sept. 7. The North Carolina error was 3.6 percent.

This Quinnipiac poll, however, is very different from a new Suffolk University poll that has Trump up three points among North Carolinians.

As of September 8, the Boston-based Suffolk poll had Trump ringing in at 44 percent to Hillary’s 41 percent.

The Suffolk poll was of 500 likely voters conducted between September 5 and 7 with a margin of error at 4.4 points.
