President Donald Trump ridiculed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi after she struggled with a microphone that failed to work properly.
“Nancy Pelosi and Fake Tears Chuck Schumer held a rally at the steps of The Supreme Court and mic did not work (a mess)-just like Dem party!” Trump wrote on Twitter early Tuesday morning. “When will the Democrats give us our Attorney General and rest of Cabinet! They should be ashamed of themselves! No wonder D.C. doesn’t work!”
“We can’t hear you!” some in the crowd shouted, as Pelosi began her speech Monday night condemning Trump’s executive order limiting immigration and refugees from high-risk countries in the Middle East.
“Is the sound working?” Pelosi asked, as some in the crowd complained that they couldn’t hear her. “Is someone going to deal with this? Staff? Sound people?”
She then distracted the crowd by commenting on the moon.
“Look at that moon, it’s a brand new moon,” she said.
“We can’t hear you!” replied some in the crowd.
After failing to get the mic working, Pelosi came up with a different plan.
“Should we sing ‘This Land is Your Land’ again until they get the sound working?” she asked.
They did.
The night continued with constant sound problems. Eventually Democratic staff brought a bullhorn to replace the sound system.
