Vice President Mike Pence encouraged Christian reporters and broadcasters Tuesday to “continue to speak about the cause of life on every platform that you have an opportunity to address.”

Addressing the 2018 National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Convention in Nashville, Pence helped pro-life organization Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) to celebrate its merger with Life Issues Institute (LII), an effort that seeks to expand grassroots education regarding issues concerning life.

Pence described the partnership between the two organizations as one that is “made in heaven.”

“[A]ll of you that have supported the [SBA List], and the combination now with the great Life Issues Institute, continue to be supportive in every way that you can, with your time and your talent and your treasure – because the work is essential,” Pence said. “The work is timely. And I truly believe that if all of us do all that we can, that we will once again in our time restore the sanctity of life to the center of American law.”

The vice president continued that LII is “an organization that literally is changing hearts and minds of millions of people through education since its founding in 1991.”

“I do believe that the combination of the SBA List and the extraordinary resources and reach of the Life Issues Institute are going to continue to advance this cause and to change lives,” Pence added.

Pro-life Pence became a larger target of the abortion industry and its political and media allies since Donald Trump chose him as his running mate in 2016.

Following actress and Jim Beam global spokesperson Mila Kunis’ announcement in November she has been making monthly donations to Planned Parenthood in Pence’s name to protest his pro-life views, SBA List president Marjorie Dannenfelser announced, “We’re now accepting donations to the pro-life cause in Vice President Mike Pence’s name.”

Pence said he was “honored” to lend his name to the cause.

Pence is the first sitting vice president to have addressed the annual March for Life event held on the National Mall each year on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade.

SBA List has been a political and legislative leader of the pro-life movement. The group states LII will use its existing communication platforms, including “Life Issues” one-minute radio commentaries and “The Latest” weekly online publication to reach out to the pro-life grassroots and the American public.

SBA List now includes Susan B. Anthony List, Charlotte Lozier Institute, Women Speak Out PAC, SBA List Candidate Fund, the National Pro-life Women’s Caucus, and Life Issues Institute.
