President Donald J. Trump broke away from his security detail before boarding Marine One to greet local enforcement officers following a roundtable discussion on illegal immigration in Bethpage, New York on Wednesday.

The video, tweeted by White House aide Dan Scavino Jr., shows Trump jogging over to shake hands with a row of New York State Police and Nassau County Police officers.

“As the granddaughter of a firefighter I’m so proud to work for a president who supports the men and women of fire departments across the country, as seen here today in Bethpage, NY,” tweeted White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Later, Trump took to Twitter to thank the “incredible law enforcement officers and firefighters,” for their service.

“Keep up the great work!”
