The Harnett County Sheriff’s Department says a 60-year-old man faces assault charges and is hospitalized in serious condition after an alleged attack on his wife.
ABC 11 reports that the HCSD says the husband, Jeffrey Hooks, forced his way into his wife’s home around 2:20 am Sunday while in possession of a handgun. There was an alleged “assault” of the wife, Jeana Crawford, and a juvenile. Crawford then shot her husband.
WRAL reports that Hooks was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital and is listed in serious condition.
Hooks and Crawford are allegedly estranged.
Hooks is “charged with breaking and entering to terrorize and two counts of assault on a female and assault by pointing a gun.”
