President Donald Trump said he would still travel to a political rally in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, despite a category 4 hurricane hitting Florida.

Trump admitted he was in a “bit of a quagmire” about whether or not to go, noting that “thousands” of supporters were already in Erie, Pennsylvania, for the rally on Wednesday night.

“I don’t want to disappoint people,” he said. “We’ll probably go because what are you going to do? Tell thousands of people that have been waiting all night that we’re not coming? That’s not fair.”

The president commented on the issue after reporters at the White House asked him if it was “appropriate” to hold a campaign rally on the day of the hurricane.

Trump said that federal officials and first responders were prepared for the storm in Florida.

“We have our people ready,” he said. “I think it will be just fine.”

Later Wednesday afternoon, Trump announced his decision on Twitter.
