In 2015, the Rose and Sugar Bowls will host the national semifinal games when the NCAA implements its college football playoff system.

CBS Sports reported the “the two bowls will host the semifinals together four times over the course of the 12-year playoff deal” and, “when not serving as semifinals, the bowls will go on with participants from their usual conferences.”

This means the Fiesta and Orange Bowls will probably be paired as national semifinal sites. The site for the first championship game under the new playoff system has yet to be determined.
