San Diego Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd was released from the hospital and flew back to San Diego with the team Sunday night after being sandwiched by three Eagles and laying motionless on the field for several minutes.

Floyd was in the middle of a productive game, having hauled in 5 catchesand 102 yards receiving, but the injury ended his day and broughtconcerned players from both teams to the field.

As the players gathered around him, medical personnel stabilized Malcom Floyd’s neck and head area, carefully placing him on the stretcher. A CT scan at the hospital was negative and the Philadelphia area hospital decided not to keep him overnight.

Floyd luckily escaped the worst case scenario from the hit, but the Chargers may be without the playmaker for some time. In his absence, the Chargers will look to Antonio Gates, Keenan Allen, Eddie Royal, and Vincent Brown to step up their production as pass catchers.
