Philadelphia 76ers rookie standout Michael Carter-Williams is ensuring that he will not be broke like many other professional athletes who have made millions by putting his salary into a trust that he cannot touch for three years.

Though his “rookie contract guarantees him $4.5 million over his first two seasons” and he “could make a total of $10 million if the Sixers pick up the final two seasons of his contract,” Carter-Williams is depositing his salary “into a trust he can’t touch for three years.”

Instead, Carter-Williams is reportedly “living off endorsement deals with Nike and Panini trading cards.”
