Harvard University clinched the Ivy League title Friday night. The championship proved especially sweet for the Crimson as they defeated rival Yale 70-58 to win its league’s regular season crown.

Crimson basketball has witnessed a renaissance under former Duke guard Tommy Amaker as head coach. With one scheduled game to go, Harvard boasts a 12-1 league record. The Cambridge, Massachusetts university earned its third consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament with its triumph over Yale. The school had never won a league championship in basketball prior to Amaker’s arrival.

The victory makes Harvard the first of 68 teams to gain a bracket position.
