Friday night’s Stanley Cup Finals Game 5 between the Los Angeles Kings and the New York Rangers was the highest-rated Game 5 in 14 years.

The Kings won the Stanley Cup – their second in three years — when Alec Martinez hammered home a rebound in double overtime.

NBC got a 4.6 ratings and was No. 1 “for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, total viewers and most other key measures (adults, men and women 18-34, adults, men and women 18-49; and adults and men 25-54).”

The New York-Los Angeles battle, as predicted, drew ratings, especially when it was on NBC instead of the obscure NBC Sports Network cable channel.
