LILLE France (Reuters) – German Marcel Kittel won his third stage on this year’s Tour de France when he prevailed in a bunch sprint on Tuesday after defending champion Chris Froome suffered a fall.

The victory is Kittell’s third in four stages. The stage started without 2010 Tour champion Andy Schleck, who succumbed to a leg injury suffered in a crash the previous day. The riders raced in France after several days in England.

Vincenzo Nibali remains the overall leader.
