The Seattle Seahawks have traded multifaceted offensive weapon Percy Harvin to the New York Jets.

Seattle picked up the receiver in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings in 2013 for first-, third-, and seventh-round picks. He comes considerably cheaper for the Jets, who deal Seattle a conditional pick ranging anywhere from the second to the fourth round.

Harvin spent most of 2013 injured on the sidelines. He proved a major contributor in the Super Bowl, running for 45 yards on two carries, returning a kick for a touchdown, and catching a pass. Despite showing flashes of the ground-air threat that Seattle traded for, Harvin played little last season and has contributed little this season, accumulating 122 receiving yards through five games.

The Jets, 1-6 after losing a nailbiter in New England Thursday night, have struggled in the passing game all season. Harvin either solves Geno Smith’s problems or exposes Geno Smith as the problem.
