Peyton Manning lost one of his favorite targets on Tuesday. Julius Thomas gained a massive new contract.

The fifth-year tight end signed a multiyear deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Thomas looks to take in about $9 million annually. The deal gives second-year quarterback Blake Bortles a big target to hit that will help prevent him from remaining a big target to hit.

The oft-injured Thomas played in half of the regular season games over his first four years in the NFL. Thomas played just one year of college football after a basketball career at Portland State.

Thomas caught 108 balls for 1,277 yards and 24 touchdowns over four truncated seasons in Denver.
