After an incredibly boring Game 3, the Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks provided their fans with one of the most exciting matchups this playoffs. It was the Blackhawks who ended up with the victory in double overtime, 5-4.

The game was 1-1 until captain Jonathan Toews scored at 2:38 to put the Hawks on top. United Center erupted and it looked like easy sailing for the Hawks. Brent Seabrook added another five minutes later. 3-1! The game might not end in overtime right?

Right?

A minute later Ryan Kesler scored.

Then Matt Beleskey.

Then Corey Perry.

Three goals in 37 seconds. Not a record, but enough to quiet the entire city of Chicago. The Ducks know how to take advantage of stupid and silly mistakes. They made the Hawks pay for their mistakes.

Complete silence at the United Center. It was even worse for Hawks fans. The Ducks led 4-3. With every passing second the Ducks inched closer to taking a 3-1 series lead back to Anaheim.

A whistle blew to call Jakob Silfverberg for holding. A power play opportunity for the Hawks. Normally, a man advantage is a good thing for a team. Not the Hawks. Their power play in the 2014-15 season was atrocious so it is not surprising the United Center was not too hyped up for the power play opportunity. However, the Hawks do have Toews and Patrick Kane, who always step up for the team when leadership is needed. Kane scored that much needed goal only 16 seconds into the power play.

OVERTIME!

The Ducks outshot the Hawks 17-5 in overtime, but could not put it passed goalie Corey Crawford. Shot after shot, but nothing came from them. The Hawks shots were high quality, with Patrick Sharp almost ending the game on a breakaway.

DOUBLE OVERTIME.

Of course the game went into another overtime, but this one did not last very long. From behind the net, Sharp passed the puck to the front of the net where Antoine Vermette shot it. Frederick Andersen stopped, but Vermette quickly shot the puck back and in off the rebound.

“Chelsea Dager” rang through the United Center as the fans jumped with glee. Yes, the Hawks won, but the game ended before midnight!

Game 5 is in Anaheim at 9 p.m. Eastern on NBCSN.
