Social media platform Twitter rolled out a fix to a recent update that removed the “@ reply” function for some users that previously left testers unhappy.
Previously, placing an @ symbol in front of a person’s Twitter username tags them in a tweet and sends them a notification. Twitter claimed they accidentally released an update that removed the @ reply function for iOS users.
The official Twitter support account tweeted about the incident and stated that the update was “an experiment”:

The update has been rolled back, and Twitter is back to using the same username mention format that it seems many people have grown extremely attached to.
