Yahoo News has fired its Washington Bureau Chief David Chalian following Chalian’s remark last night that the Romneys are “happy to party while black people drown,” in reference to Tropical Storm Isaac. The remark was inadvertently aired on ABC’s webcast.

Said Yahoo News in a statement released to Breitbart News:

David Chalian’s statement was inappropriate and does not represent the views of Yahoo!. He has been terminated effective immediately. We have already reached out to the Romney campaign, and we apologize to Mitt Romney, his staff, their supporters and anyone who was offended.

Chalian’s remark set off a firestorm of criticism; Chalian himself has been silent on the matter.
