The last time CNN paired Anderson Cooper with Kathy Griffin to welcome in the new year the reality show staple pretended to fellate the silver-haired anchor.

America cringed. New CNN head honcho Jeff Zucker apparently felt a burst of inspiration.

The ratings-starved network brought the two together again this week, according to Deadline.com. The site reports Cooper and Griffin taped a pilot for a possible new show with Zucker himself on hand to consider the combination.

I hear the duo filmed a pilot today at the CNN studios in the Time Warner Center in New York. Details about the hourlong project are sketchy, but I’ve learned that it had a lot of humor in it and filmed in front of a live audience.

For too long CNN has aped the liberal leanings of MSNBC. Perhaps Zucker is looking toward reality TV high jinks as one solution for its ratings woes.
