The revelation that four left-wing MSNBC hosts have failed to pay their taxes (Al Sharpton, plus Melissa Harris-Perry, Joy-Add Reid, and Touré Nesbitt) recalls an episode in 2011, when Andrew Breitbart raised the issue of MSNBC’s tax-dodging.

The scene was Occupy Wall Street–specifically, the Occupy LA branch. On Oct. 6, 2011, Andrew and a team of reporters became the first conservatives to report directly from inside an Occupy protest, as demonstrators barricaded themselves inside a Bank of America branch in downtown Los Angeles. Andrew walked around, questioning the Occupy activists (and soon acquired an SEIU “minder” who followed him around and tried to warn people away from speaking with Breitbart).

One man was shouting angrily that Bank of America, like General Electric and other corporations, paid no taxes–a common refrain on the left: Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is known to use the line.

The following exchange then occurred:

Occupier: Bank of America doesn’t pay taxes at all, pal…[Interjections] GE does not pay taxes.

Andrew Breitbart: Well GE is MSNBC, yes.

Occupier: They don’t pay taxes. Noooo taxes.

Andrew Breitbart: So what do you have to say to MSNBC?

Occupier: Pay your fucking taxes!
