Although Gallup was pretty off on their 2012 election polls, the job approval number isn’t weighted; it’s merely a poll of all adults — which generally favors Democrats.
Over the past few days, the president’s disapproval number has crept up to 45%, while his approval number has dropped below 50%, to 49%.
Obama’s disapprove number hasn’t been as high as 45% since before the election.
I don’t want to read too much into what could be statistical noise, but it is worth noting that, this soon after winning re-election, Obama is already below 50%.
