EDINBURG, Texas – Five previously deported illegal aliens and a human smuggler have all been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and stabbing of another illegal alien that was left for dead in a rural border area. Authorities were able to identify the stabbing victim as only a 25-year-old previously deported convicted felon who remains in serious condition at a local hospital.

The case began last week when deputies with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a field in the rural community of Hargill and found a man that had been left for dead with multiple deep stab wounds, bound with duct tape and wrapped in a bedsheet, said Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra during a news conference that Breitbart Texas attended.

The man had been smuggled into the country illegally and was being kept at a stash house in rural Donna where a group of other men were being kept as they waited to be moved north. An apparent dispute over smuggling fees appears to be the motive for an argument between the man and the human smuggler, a 43 year old woman who went by the name Kenia Guadalupe Rivas. The human smuggler is also an illegal alien who goes by the name “Senora Kenia”, Guerra said during the interview.

Rivas had the other aliens, who were all from Mexico and had been hiding out at the house, beat the man. After beating him they tied him down with duct tape, Guerra said. A short time later the man managed to break free and make a phone call.

“They feared that he may have been calling authorities since he spoke fluent English and they couldn’t understand him,” Guerra said during the interview.

Once again the illegal aliens beat the victim and Rivas had two of the aliens help take him to a rural area near Hargill where one of the men stabbed him, covered him with a sheet and left him for dead, the sheriff said.

“Our investigators worked tirelessly and with the help of our federal law enforcement partners we were able to arrest all of the parties involved,” he said.

Last weekend deputies arrested Rivas, Victor Curiel, 32, Oscar Centeno, 43, Jean Carlos Gonzalez, 28, Edgar Garcia, 26, and Esteban Rubio Gonzalez, 35 ; they were all charged with one count of attempted capital murder and their bond was set at $500,000.
