In 90-Minute Phone Call, Obama Expresses 'His Deep Concern' over Violation of Ukrainian Sovereignty

Simferopol, Ukraine (CNN) — In a 90-minute conversation Saturday, U.S. President Barack Obama expressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin “his deep concern over Russia’s clear violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity, which is a breach of international law, including Russia’s obligations under the U.N. Charter, and of its 1997 military basing agreement with Ukraine,” according to a statement released by the White House.
