At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave an interview to CNBC Europe’s Geoff Cutmore. During that interview, Putin reacted to remarks from his U.S. counterpart President Barack Obama, who has taken issue with Putin’s activities regarding Ukraine.
Also in the interview, Putin warned the West’s sanctions would backfire on them and that he respected the obvious choice of Eastern Ukrainians, which was Putin.
