Sunday on CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” former “CBS Evening News” anchor Dan Rather said it would be “very hard” for NBC’s former Nightly News host Brian Williams to return to his anchor post after an investigation into his many embellishments of news stories has found multiple incidents of the bad behavior.
Rather said, “Objectively it’s very hard to see how NBC brings him back. I said some time ago I thought his chances were slim to none. You could make a case that slim just left town.”
He continued by slamming NBC for leaking the findings or their investigation.
“With these leaks to The Washington Post and The New York Times, vicious really in their own way,” he added. “I think they were vicious. why dump this on him if he’s not able to speak for himself. I think NBC has asked him to be quiet.”
