New Jersey Governor Christie Christie got a not so warm welcome Tuesday night at the St. Louis Cardinals-New York Mets game.

In the third inning, Cardinals infielder Paul DeJong hit a foul popup behind the plate, which Christie snagged on a bounce. After some high-fives and handshakes, the governor handed the ball off to a young fan behind him.

Once the crowd realized it was Christie who caught the foul ball, boos started heavily ringing throughout the stadium.

Cardinals announcer Dan McLaughlin joked, “Nice to see him get from the beach here to the ballpark.”
