On Wednesday’s broadcast of Fox News Radio’s “Guy Benson Show,” Fox News Channel host Howard Kurtz reacted to President Trump’s criticisms of the network by stating it isn’t FNC’s job to “promote or defend” the president and Trump’s criticisms say “that we’re doing our job.”

Kurtz said, “Fox has a news division that’s going to cover the Democrats, that’s going to cover Donald Trump and the controversies in which he’s involved in, fairly, or at least attempt to. And if the president doesn’t like that, then I guess we’re in the same category as the other news organization he beats up on, and it says to me that we’re doing our job. Because I don’t think any of those criticisms — you know, if we make a mistake, we should correct it, but he seems unhappy with the tone of the fact that we cover both his campaign, his presidency, his administration, and the Democratic campaign.”

He added, “[I]t’s not our job to promote or defend the administration.”
