LOS ANGELES, Sept. 17 (UPI)–U.S. actor Zac Efron completed a stint in rehab about five months ago and has been staying away from the nightclub scene since, People.com said Tuesday.

Efron, 25, is best known for his roles in the “High School Musical” franchise and the movie musical “Hairspray.” He will soon be seen in the big-screen drama “Parkland.”

He entered rehab for substance-abuse issues last spring, but is now “doing great,” a source told People.com Tuesday. “He’s taking care of himself and it shows.”

No other details were immediately available regarding where the actor sought treatment or specifically what substances he had been abusing.
