Horror novelist Stephen King ripped into CNN for turning the families of the missing Malaysian airliner into “supporting players in a CNN ratings quest.” Using Twitter, King fired off three tweets at the left-wing network that has faced a lot of criticism for its obsessive and at times unseemly coverage:

This constant rehashing of the tragedy shows no respect to the families; it turns them into supporting players in CNN’s ratings quest.

The coverage reminds me of Alfred Austin’s awful couplet: “Across the wires the message came/He is no better, he is much the same.”

Somebody please make CNN stop with the plane coverage. It’s time to move on.
