The Jerusalem Post reports: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Tuesday that despite the relative calm on the northern border since the Second Lebanon War a decade ago, Israel is ready for “any scenario.”

Speaking at a memorial to honor Israel’s fallen soldiers in the 2006 war, Netanyahu stressed that the Jewish state will respond with force if the quiet is shattered.

“Radical Islam aspires to suppress life,” he stated, pointing to recent deadly terrorist attacks abroad in Nice, France and Orlando Florida along with those targeting Israelis at Tel Aviv’s Sarona Market and the West Bank settlement of Otniel.

Netanyahu pointed to the axis between Iran and its Lebanese proxy Hezbollah for the “trend” of destabilization in the region over the past years.
