Israel’s own Gal Gadot delighted her fans at home when she made her debut on “Saturday Night Live” and delivered a special message in her native language Hebrew.

The Wonder Woman star joked as she opened her monlogue: “Yes, I know I have an accent. I’m obviously not from here…I’m from Albequrque.” Gadot, a former Miss Israel who served two years in the Israeli army, then continued by acknowledging the “nice but not very sophisticated” show writers who she said tried have her eat hummus in every sketch.

“Hi everybody, I just wanted to let you know that this might be a big mistake. The writers here clearly know nothing about Israel. In every sketch they have me eating hummus. I mean, I love hummus, but come on,” she said.”I think they believe that I am the real Wonder Woman. So in short, wish me luck.”

Gadot, 30, was previously best known for her roles in four “Fast and Furious” films and remains one of this year’s biggest stars, with Wonder Woman receiving critical acclaim and earning more than $820 million worldwide. She is the second Israeli to host Saturday Night Live, following Jerusalem-born US actress Natalie Portman.
