The Algemeiner reports: JNS.org – Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin made statements in support of a united Spain during a visit to the country on Monday, amid efforts by the country’s restive Catalonia region to declare its independence.

“Spain for us is one country, and His Majesty the King is the symbol of that unity,” said Rivlin during a state dinner hosted by Spain’s King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia in Madrid’s Royal Palace.

“All of the citizens of Spain are dear to us and we hope and pray that all conflicts will be solved by peaceful measures,” Rivlin said. The Israeli president did not make any reference to Catalonia.
