In New York, even a disgraced Democrat can beat a Republican representative.

A May 21-22 poll by Rasmussen shows both Democrat front-runners for mayor of New York, Christine Quinn and former congressman Anthony Weiner, outpoll the top GOP hopeful, Joseph J. Lhota.

Quinn leads Lhota 49% to 27%, while 11% want a third candidate and 13% are undecided. Weiner leads Lhota 41% to 32%, while 12% prefer another candidate and 15% are undecided.

Among registered Democrats, Quinn is ahead of Weiner 24% to 18%.
