Michael Bloomberg’s latest gun control campaign is “pulling the trigger” on red-state Democrats running for re-election this fall.

According to The Hill, the Bloomberg-backed Everytown for Gun Safety group will “begin questioning candidates for state and federal offices about their positions on an array of issues surrounding gun policy.” Everytown then plans “to use the responses to target candidates the group views as standing on the wrong side of the issue.”

Everytown president John Feinblatt says candidates have only dealt with the gun lobby on this issue up until now, and he hopes to change that.

This could lead to the very kind of exposure pro-gun control, red-state Democrats like Kay Hagan (D-NC), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), and Mark Udall (D-CO) tried to avoid last month by asking Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly to stay out of their states.
