Wednesday, before the House voted 236–191 to block funding for President Barack Obama’s executive amnesty orders, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) gave a rousing floor speech criticizing the president’s perceived executive overreach saying, “The same document that this and all presidents swear to defend gives this body certain tools, like the power of the purse, and it’s about damn time we use that tool.”
