In an unlikely meeting, the Rev. Al Sharpton and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin posed for a photo together on the red carpet ahead of Saturday Night Live’s 40th anniversary special on Sunday.
Sharpton tweeted a photo of the pair:

A couple of hours later, Sharpton returned to Twitter to poke fun at Palin: “I saw Sarah Palin on the red carpet and we talked to Xtra together. I urged her to run in 2016 and help the Democrats out.”

Palin appeared in a segment on SNL’s 40th anniversary special, where she asked Jerry Seinfeld how much show creator Lorne Michaels would pay her to run for president in 2016.
“I don’t think there’s a number too big,” Seinfeld joked.
Last month, Palin told the Washington Post she is “seriously interested” in running for president in 2016.
