Ebony.com Senior Editor Jamilah Lemieux remarked that Ted Cruz likes country music because “nothing says ‘let’s go kill some Muslims’ like country music” on Wednesday’s “NOW with Alex Wagner” on MSNBC.
After hearing a clip of Cruz saying he changed his music tastes after 9/11, Lemieux remarked “nothing says ‘let’s go kill some Muslims’ like country music. Fresh from Lynchburg, Virginia, someone who obviously does not want to be a polarizing candidate, wants to bring people together. I mean, really? That’s absurd.”
Towards the end of the show, guest host Ari Melber said “a few minutes ago on this show, a guest made a comment about country music. That comment was not appropriate, and we want to be clear this network does not condone it.”
