Sen. Rand Paul calls his presidential competitor Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) “the weakest” of the Republican presidential candidates when it comes to national defense.

“Rubio has never been very good with border security, he’s pretty much has been an open borders kind of guy, same is true with security,” Paul tells host Stephen K. Bannon on Breitbart News Daily.

Where he’s been supposedly strong on national defense, he’s actually been the opposite. Calling for regime change in Libya I think made us weaker and more vulnerable to attack. I think if you look at things across the board, Marco Rubio is actually the weakest of the candidates with regard to defending the country.

Paul also spoke about the need to fix America’s visa waiver program.

But we do need to have a discussion on this, realize that all of the people in Paris who were shooting up and killing hundreds of people over there in that tragedy. I think probably, virtually every one of them could have gotten on a plane and come over here, unless they were on a watch list.
If they were just a French citizen and not on a watch list, they could have gotten on a plane and come over here. That still is a problem. All of France can come here without a visa, all of Germany can come here without a visa, and all of England can come here without a visa. And because they’ve had unlimited and uncontrolled immigration form the Middle East to these countries, we’re at risk until we control the access to come to our country.
Paul discussed President Obama’s Sunday night address and said that he believes Obama is finally beginning to understand the threat of radical Islam.
“He did, in an off hand way, also admit that the female terrorist didn’t get enough scrutiny when she came over here with immigration”
“He hasn’t proposed anything to correct these problems, but I think he’s at least starting to recognize a little bit about what the problem is and so were some other Democrats.”
