An FBI operation into the Black Gangster Disciples, Vice Lords and Sipp Mob street gangs may provide some answers into the 2014 murder of a 19-year-old teen who was burned alive on a rural road in Mississippi.

This week, federal, state and local authorities deployed multiple SWAT teams to arrest nine high profile gang members on multiple charges. In total authorities have been able to get get state or federal indictments against 17 gang members on charges ranging from child endangerment, possession of stolen firearms, narcotics sales, and felon in possession of a firearm to possession of counterfeit currency.

The large FBI gang operation dubbed “Operation Bite Back” is indirectly linked to the December , 2014 murder of 19-year-old Jessica Chambers, Mississippi News Now reported. On December 6, 2014, Chambers was doused with gasoline inside of her car and set on fire in a rural area. She managed to get out of the car and was found near the vehicle on a rural road. CHambers died later in a Memphis hospital.

The gang roundup ended up being a by-product of the investigation into Chambers death. While the suspects in the gang raid are not directly related to Chambers murder, information leading to their arrest came up as part of the large scale investigation into the murder, Panola County Sheriff Dennis Darby told the Clarion Ledger
