A good Samaritan in North Carolina assisted two injured deputies who were attacked by a raging “naked male,” according to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.

Details surrounding deputies’ injuries were not disclosed, but they have both since been released from the hospital, The News & Observer reported

The incident occurred early on Feb. 19 near Kinston when deputies responded to a call about a domestic dispute involving a man named Stacy Lashone Kinsey, according to the report.

A caller told law enforcement Kinsey was naked outside of a residence and threatening to assault her and the children she shares with Kinsey, according to the sheriff’s office. Dispatch also told deputies that Kinsey had gone inside two other residences without permission.

“When deputies arrived … Kinsey physically attacked two deputies by striking them in the head and face with a closed fist,” the sheriff’s office said. “A good Samaritan assisted the deputies and helped take Kinsey into custody.”

Officials said they discovered that 50-year-old Kinsey had allegedly been holding “the pregnant victim and the children against their will and threatened them with a firearm.”

The sheriff’s office said the pregnant woman was eventually able to escape the residence and run to a neighbor’s home for help. Kinsey allegedly entered two residences trying to locate her.

Kinsey, who is already a convicted felon, is facing charges for:

“I would also like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the Good Samaritan who provided a helping hand to the deputies in making the arrest this morning,” Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers said in a news release.
