Fox Sports 1 is reportedly pursuing ESPN Chicago’s Sarah Spain to be on Regis Philbin’s show when the network debuts on August 17 to challenge ESPN.

A report in BigLeadSports also noted the network is in talks with Donovan McNabb and Trevor Pryce.

Spain is a potential big-time national star who can be “blockbuster,” and Fox Sports 1 is smart to recognize her across-the-board knowledge and personality that would work on the type of show Philbin is intending to host. Philbin’s show will reportedly have writers and athletes from the sports world discussing the days sports news and sharing their opinions with sports fans and regular people who are not formally in the sports world.

Philbin’s Show, “Rush Hour,” will air at 5 p.m ET, and Fox Sports 1 seems like it realizes that Spain could be even more of a household name on the show and the network’s national platforms.
