Believe it or not Sarah Palin is 50. The former Alaska governor celebrated that milestone birthday Tuesday. In typical Palin fashion, she was thinking of others, not herself on the big day. Palin asked for people to contribute to Breast Cancer Focus, the charity that Todd Palin’s Iron Dog race team is teaming with this year.

Still, Sarah Palin’s loving family made sure her day was special. Her sisters baked and delivered a chocolate cake and an apple pie to mark the occasion. Then, Palin revealed that she received something unique from her tough-guy husband.

While appearing on the Hannity program on Fox News Channel Tuesday, Palin told host Sean Hannity that for the most part she kept things low-key for her birthday. In fact, she attended her daughter Piper’s middle school volleyball game. Typical Palin again. Family and sports are always a big part of things no matter what the calendar says.

Then Palin unveiled the surprising news. She said Todd gave her a “cool gift”–he attended a late night yoga class with her. Yes, yoga. A man about to embark on one of the most grueling races known to man, the Iron Dog, was doing the downward dog.

Now, that’s love. Forget about the birthday. I think Todd may have covered the birthday, Valentine’s Day, and at least ten purse holdings at the mall with this gesture.

Sarah Palin’s approach to yoga has shown us that the age-old practice can be done by a conservative Christian. Now, Todd has proven real men can give it a whirl too.

Could moose quiche be far behind? Doubtful. Although he’ll have to come up with something for next year to top this.
